Chapter 90: Side Story (2)

Qi Rui-Feng adopted a black and white bunny rabbit from the resort and brought it back with him to the team. He summoned the dp-boys along with Tang Yi-Bai to brainstorm a name for the bunny together.

Zheng Ling-Ye: "Rabbit."

Ming Tian: "Wang Dachui."{王大锤: A fictional character from the TV series《万万没想到》or 'Unexpectedness'. The actor who plays the character kinda looks like a rabbit? Other than that, I can't comment since I haven't actually watched the show. Here's a pic for your consideration:

Xiang Yang-Yang: "Little Blossom."

Qi Rui-Feng: "Milk Cow."

Xiang Yang-Yang huffed, "What the hell is up with Milk Cow? It's obviously a rabbit."

Qi Rui-Feng had a defense ready: "But it has black and white patches, like a milk cow."

And so the two began to quarrel over the issue; Ming Tian and Zheng Ling-Ye did not want to become cannon fodder in this battle, so they temporarily withdrew from the discussion. And then Qi Rui-Feng nudged Tang Yi-Bai on the arm and asked, "Tang Yi-Bai, what do you think?"

Tang Yi-Bai was looking at his phone, and without even raising his head, he said, "This brother is busy chatting with his girlfriend and has no time to fool around with you all."

Xiang Yang-Yang clenched her fists. "Why do I really feel like beating you to death..."

Ming Tian nodded sagely in agreement.

In the end, Xiang Yang-Yang and Qi Rui-Feng reached a settlement. Considering the characteristic black and white patches of the rabbit, they named it "Panda".

After that, Qi Rui-Feng asked Xiang Yang-Yang to go get some leafy greens from the young cook at the cafeteria so they could feed Panda. Xiang Yang-Yang shot back, "Why me? Why don't you go?"

Qi Rui-Feng: "You know him better."

Xiang Yang-Yang gave him a strange look. "Why do you think I know him better?"

Qi Rui-Feng blinked, taken aback, suddenly unsure how he should answer this question. However, Xiang Yang-Yang did not wait for his reply, already leaving to go get the greens. Qi Rui-Feng stared at her back, somewhat at a loss. "Yeah, why do I feel like she is close with the young cook?"

Tang Yi-Bai replied, "Because the young cook has a crush on Yang." After saying thus, he found that the other three guys were gaping at him in shock. Tang Yi-Bai sighed, shaking his head. "Don't tell me you all really didn't notice?"

The three boys shook their heads dumbly.

In that instant, Tang Yi-Bai felt a deep sense of superiority — 'This is why I have a girlfriend and you guys don't.'

Dazedly, Ming Tian commented, "Daring to have a crush on someone like big sis Yang? Wow, I really admire him!"

Xiang Yang-Yang soon returned with the young cook behind her. The young cook was carrying a shopping basket with all kinds of vegetables inside it. Even someone as insensitive as Xiang Yang-Yang noticed the odd stares of Qi Rui-Feng and the other boys. She rubbed her nose. "What?"

"Nothing." Qi Rui-Feng took the basket from the young cook and then said to him, "Thank you. You can go now."

"I came to see a panda." The young cook began feeding the rabbit. "I actually thought you guys had managed to bring back a panda. How stupid of me."

Xiang Yang-Yang giggled in amusement. The young cook turned to look at her, smiling.

Qi Rui-Feng looked at Xiang Yang-Yang and then turned to look at the young cook, his expression filled with suspicion. He saw the young cook feeding Panda non-stop and pointed at the rabbit, dominantly proclaiming his ownership. "I am its father."

The young cook: "Oh? Then who is its mother?"

Qi Rui-Feng: "The mother must of course be a woman."

Ming Tian lamented, "What a pity. There are no girls among us."

Xiang Yang-Yang protested, "What about me?"

"Big sis Yang, quick, hide your peepee."

Ming Tian's words resulted in him being chased by Xiang Yang-Yang. They were young and energetic, only stopping after running around for quite a while. Ming Tian had been bopped firmly on the head by Xiang Yang-Yang, and he was grimacing from the pain.

In the end, Xiang Yang-Yang took on the glorious position of Panda's mother.

The young cook left with the basket, his back looking very lonely.

Panda settled into Qi Rui-Feng's dormitory. Qi Rui-Feng's time and energy were limited so he could not take care of it properly, and so he entrusted its care to the cleaning staff. Xiang Yang-Yang often went over to Qi Rui-Feng's dorm room to visit Panda. One day, Tang Yi-Bai saw the two of them sprawled out on Qi Rui-Feng's bed reading comics and discussing what they read together. Tang Yi-Bai had not seen Yun Duo for several days; in that instant, he actually felt like he had suffered damage from the sight of these two single-dogs together.

Qi Rui-Feng often complained that Xiang Yang-Yang hits his head. A man's head and a woman's waist should not be touched casually — this was a taboo. Qi Rui-Feng believed that he was a macho man — how could he let a girl hit him on the head again and again...?

One time, he became angry and planned to teach Xiang Yang-Yang a little lesson. Okay, so you like to touch my head, right? Then I'll touch your waist. You touch my head, I touch your waist... and then, as expected, Xiang Yang-Yang stopped touching his head, instead giving him a tight slap.

Qi Rui-Feng was furious — he was determined to never talk to Xiang Yang-Yang ever again. When he returned to his dorm room, he complained long and loud to Tang Yi-Bai, swearing to ignore Xiang Yang-Yang from now on.

The next day, Qi Rui-Feng was lying face-down on a mat after training to cool down when Xiang Yang-Yang passed by. She took off her shoes and stepped gently on his calves, and then she began stepping on his back, giving him a massage.

Qi Rui-Feng pretended that he did not know her, keeping silent with his face down.

Xiang Yang-Yang asked him with a laugh as she stepped on him, "Does it feel good? Hehehe."

He said nothing.

Xiang Yang-Yang then asked, "What did you eat for lunch?"

He still said nothing.

She became rather annoyed and gave him a kick. Raising her voice, she said, "I'm talking to you!"

"Roast beef!" He replied loudly, feeling rather defeated.

A few days later, a serious fight occurred within the swimming team. Xiang Yang-Yang had beaten up two male swimmers until their faces were black and blue. They would not be able to swim for a week. Perhaps due to her reputation for being fierce and her status within the swimming team, the two male swimmers actually had not retaliated.

The evidence was conclusive — Xiang Yang-Yang was the responsible party in the incident. Qi Rui-Feng was unfamiliar with the two male members involved and he did not know the details of the matter. Honestly, no one really knew what had happened. During the investigation, when the coaches asked Xiang Yang-Yang why she had hit the boys, she had refused to say anything more than: "They were irritating."

In the end, Xiang Yang-Yang was marked with a great demerit.

Xiang Yang-Yang herself was unbothered, but Qi Rui-Feng fumed, "Xiang Yang-Yang, why are you becoming more and more violent? Beating someone up just because they were irritating? I remember you weren't like this before. You should go see a therapist!"

"Get lost."

"..."

Qi Rui-Feng felt aggrieved. He wouldn't have bothered about her issues if he didn't care for her! A dog biting the hand that feeds it — so ungrateful!

Tang Yi-Bai believed that there was more to the story and began asking around in secret. Speaking of, it was rather strange, but although Tang Yi-Bai had always kept a low profile in the team and he wasn't someone particularly good at networking, he still had decent connections within the team. From the leaders in the management and the coaches to the various members within the various smaller teams, even if someone could not say they had a special liking for him, they at least did not dislike him. Two days later, Tang Yi-Bai managed to uncover the truth. He told Qi Rui-Feng, "Sis Yang beat them up because they were speaking badly about you behind your back. Well, they were saying some very ugly things."

Qi Rui-Feng was silent for a long while, and in the end, he said, "That idiot."

He thought, 'No matter how much she hits me in future, I won't get mad anymore.'
